I got an eyelash tint and after pretty much looked like I had 2 black eyes, I had tint all over my face and when I asked for eye make up remover I was given an alcohol swab and then some face cleanser but no eye make up remover. Its now 3 days since and there is still some tint on the top of my eyes. I had to put sunglasses to walk out of the salon and there was no apology or real effort to help. I would not return and definitely not recommend it to my friends, if anything I would deter them from going there.

After several years of expert service and advice I was very disappointed with my last visit. The staff member was inexperienced and left in the store by herself at the end of the day. This meant I could not seek professional advice after my disaster of eyelash tinting that ended in dark marks on my eyebrows. This was a costly mistake for me, as I had to get help from another beautician in Southland. Anne

I was not too happy with my experience because i got my cartilage pierced and the girl didn't even ask me which earring I wanted, she just pierced a regular body piercing through my ear. When she was explaining what i should do if it gets infected or starts to hurt, she was very vague and quiet and didn't sound like she knew what she was doing. One other thing was that i had booked in a wax however i was 5-10 minutes late so she said she couldn't fit it in. Yet as i walked out there was no other customer in the shop for at least another 15 minutes and the young girls were just talking at the front desk. I thought it was all very unprofessional at the southland store.

I have been a customer of Essential Beauty for more than 6 years. In this time I valued having access to my preferred consultant up until the last 12 months. In almost every visit in the last twelve months, I have had a different consultant, either because staff have left or because the salon has been unable to arrange its booking system properly and assigned me to another consultant at the last minute. I book four weeks in advance every time and as such would expect to receive my treatments from the consultant selected at the time of booking, not to get bumped by a client who has come into the salon with short notice. To add further insult I was almost overcharged in my last visit because the person on the register failed to look at my file properly and did not realise that I am a VIP client with a standard discount in place. There was no apology forthcoming when this was pointed out to her. I did get my discount though.

Hi I just wanted to say that the staff are very friendly and make an effort to find an appointment time for me when I 'walk in off the street'. Unfortunately on my last visit there was no one at the front desk and I waited for about 10minutes during which time 3 other customers came and went without being served. this may have been a 'one off' as I was told a couple of staff were expectantly away.
