I made my first appointment Saturday morning for 10.30am for grey cover color, and asked Matty how much it would be as I have not attended this salon before, Matty quoted approx. $79 I called at 10.30 to say I could not make it, and spoke with Leanne (I'm not sure if that is her name, she may be the store manager) Leanne let me know 11.15am was available, I accepted I am unsure of the ladies name that did my color, I let her know I have been using the Aveda deep range She did the right side and a junior lady did the left side and a small section was left grey The senior lady came back to let me know 35mins was the maximum time, I let her know I have been attending other Aveda salons and they leave the color in for 45mins. She also explained, if color is left on too long it can act in reverse and the color can come off. so I agreed to wash it off after 35mins After the junior lady washed my hair she asked to comb or brush it through, I said no thank you long hair is difficult to detangle while wet it's better to dry off then brush through. After a little while the junior lady wanted to brush through my hair, I could see by the large tangles growing as she moved the brush, she was not use to brushing long hair. I said it works better if you start from the bottom. I also asked for a brush as I did not want her to continue bird nest knots in my hair and she kept doing it the same way creating massive bundles of knots as she went Extremely annoying when you are ignored and your hair is being ripped out! As I waited at the counter to pay, Leanne said $96, I said I was quoted $79 and Leanne said that was for the earlier appointment this appointment was with a senior stylist I let Leanne know I would have appreciated being told up front and not surprised at the counter I also let Leanne know I was unsure if the color would stay as I have not had it removed at 35mins before Leanne said the stylists do not ask customers opinions as they can get confused I let Leanne know, I have been attending Aveda salon's for over 10 years and I have never been to this salon before, and this stylist does not know how my hair is with retaining color and it can look grey again in a few days if the color does not process well Leanne asked another stylist to give his opinion of the timing of color, he began to explain the process then Leanne spoke over him and I did not want to continue hearing what Leanne had to say because her manner had no interest in my point of view as customers always get confused! I will not make future appointments with this salon, the junior lady ripping my hair out with the brush and Leanne's manner was an appalling experience, I will be more than happy to drive the extra time to Guildford, Duncan and the team are amazing there!!
