It starts inside. Sol Hair is a salon of the senses; a relaxing space offering a completely rejuvenating and energising experience that involves sight, sound, smell and touch from the moment you walk in the door. The space is private, earthy, ambient, welcoming and totally calm: think raw materials, hanging plants, lemongrass scents, happy vibes, and calming curated playlists. Here, the name of the game is relaxation, and of course, really great hair. This love of the environment extends outside too, with a strong focus on sustainability, recycling, minimal water usage, ethical practices and the use of organic products. Even from the salon basins, the Sol team are aiming to protect the environment in everything they do.


Sol Hair was created in 2018 by award-winning hairdresser Kristie Sibson, as a place of escape for both the body and the mind. After two years working in London for a leading salon, Kristie returned to Australia to continue her career as a hairdresser in Paddington. She has worked in some of Brisbane’s best salons, was selected as part of the Redken team for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week three years running, and has collected quite the client base and social media following along the way.

Alyssa is my hair saviour! I am sooo lucky to have found such an amazing stylist in a warm and welcoming salon. I just get an all over colour and cut, so nothing too complicated. But she is always able to listen to what I want and give me exactly that. Her hair cutting skills in particular are the best I have ever experienced. When I ask for hair care advice, I know I’ll always get a thoughtful honest answer with lots of great suggestions but never any pressure to buy on the spot. Sol is such a lovely salon. All the girls are super friendly and chatty, and the conversations are always really genuine. You can tell they have a great work environment by the way they are all so relaxed and happy in how they interact with each other and their customers. I will definitely keep coming back and recommending them to all my friends.

Thanks Sol for a very nice experience all round. I was treated by Rhys and really appreciated the time he took and his expertise in working towards fixing a complex colour situation with my hair! As well as doing a careful cut. The salon is a peaceful space and it was also great to hear about the efforts of the salon towards being more environmentally friendly. Thanks again and keep up the great work :)
