I booked in for 2 x braids and unfortunately due to my wefts the end result was horrible. The stylist was lovely but acknowledged the end result was not going to be possible due to the visibility of the wefts and the top of my head looking very messy she offered to remove the braid and try again, however. I said there was no point as she had mentioned it wasn’t likely to look any better. I was very stumped as there was the potential that I was going to be engaged to this weekend on a camping trip and the braids were a way of having my hair done, to stay clean, with the possiblity of having to take nice photos. The stylist offered to do a slick back hair style and we agreed on it, however, after she had already started she informed me this would be an up do and would cost more. In the moment she had already started so I felt uncomfortable to ask for this to be stopped because 1. The braids weren’t possible, 2. My hair was now full of hair spray and she had already said they couldn’t do a hair wash and blow dry due to time. The end result was an up do bun with lots of bobby pins, not suitable for camping, it looked nice for maybe 1 hour, before pins started falling out anyway, my hair was full of thick hair spray due to the need for it to be slick backed. Not suitable for a camping trip, I went out and washed this out at home as the pins had already started coming lose. I was charged $120 initially for this up do and when I explained my concerns I was told it was an “up do price” not the braids price of $55 I was quoted, In the end we agreed on $80, however, I am completely disappointed with the end result, the process and the amount charged at all, I think paying the initial quoted $55 was acceptable, however, to not have the initial product result as booked and then be charged more was where this experience went wrong on the salons behalf. I think it was evident that the braids weren’t working within a few minutes and being upfront could have saved everyone a lot of time and effort. The stylist was lovely and attempted to accomodate me, she was under a lot of pressure with other clients, however, I feel that under the circumstances, the extra time spent with a terrible outcome could have been avoided if escalated to management to work out a plan.
