I was referred to Head Studio from a friend. I decided to give it a try and I unfortunately did not get the results I was looking for. The staff were friendly and conversational and the studio was a cool place, but my hair was not what I had asked for. I showed pictures and chatted with the stylist for a consultation beforehand and believed we were on the same page. I only get my hair done once a year, so I was looking for a lived in, grow-out-friendly, cool blonde highlight. What I got instead was a very obvious, not lived in (but straight line of highlights) that is very orange and not natural looking at all. While my hair was being styled, I noticed the orange streaks and asked the stylist, but she assured me that it was just the lighting. I do not live in the area and have not been able to return to see if they could rectify the situation.

I have visited Head Studio 3 times for blonde balyage and showed them the picture of what I wanted but my hair still looks dark grey/yellow after a 3rd time of bleaching it. Nothing like bright blonde look I wanted. And I've already spent about $2100 to not get what I want. A bit disappointed. Plus hairdressers use very harsh brushes and it feels like I have less hair/that it was ripped out after they brushed it. Hair also feels damaged and unhealthy after the visit.

Hi I’d just like to let you know I didn’t have a very good experience today. My hairdresser was very aggressive and I’ve never experienced painful foils until today. She pulled my hair so tight each time she did a foil and I had to let her know it was painful so she could be more gentle. The girl kept pushing my head down in a very aggressive way, and burnt my scalp when she dried it off. There was no head massage, she just quickly rinsed the conditioner through… I left feeling horrible so I won’t be coming back unfortunately. I’m also pregnant and was looking forward to a relaxing appointment which is definitely not what it was.

Junior toned my hair without any senior checking it … my hair looks dull. $460 later I feel like I haven’t had my hair done. I also paid the extra for the anti -frizz treatment & my hair has never looked this limp & frizzy ends the morning after I’ve had my hair done.

Absolutely distraught. Received literally the opposite of the haircut I requested. Just went in for a trim. I specifically requested a little weight out of the ends and said ‘but no short layers, because it makes my hair too poofy’ then corrected her again when she asked how short the layers should be -‘nothing short just some weight out of the ends.’ Yet I have been given an outgrown mullet! She also didn’t speak to me until after someone else had washed my hair - she might have noticed the texture and thickness of my hair if she had of seen it dry. I’m inconsolably distraught. It’s going to take years to grow my hair back. I’ve not been in Perth for a few years, so haven’t visited in a while but the entire tone of the place has changed too, not as welcoming as it used to be.

I’ve decided to have my Balayage done at Head Studio and pay a bit more for the privilege. I rang the salon a couple of days earlier and asked if the service would be done in 2 and a half hours as I had a meeting scheduled for which I could not be late. They asked that I come an hour earlier and reassured me That would be ample time. Before my service I again told the Colorist about the meeting and she once again assured me it’s enough time. During the Service she was quite rough. Pulled hair and kept telling her colleagues she needed help and she’s running late . This immediately put me on edge and I could not relax and enjoy the experience. They really seemed to be unorganised. She had to mix colour 3 times and as the clock was ticking I told her I’m worried I won’t make it out in time. Needless to say, my foils were taken out much too early and my hair is not Balayage. The ends are much darker than what I’ve asked for in the photo. I felt they just wanted me in the salon, but once in and they’ve made the sale, they did not listen or care about me as the customer. I ended up very late for my meeting which really left me with egg on my face. I also received no apologies from the Colorist or the Manager who was aware of the situation. What was supposed to be a treat and pamper day turned out a day leaving me with knots in my stomach.
