Great little salon in close proximity to the city. Fantastic strong coffee! The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the hairdresser was very courteous and professional. It is hard to find a stylist who does a blow dry just the way I like it. Will definitely return to this salon.

I normally book for a price of $158 and am pleased that there are never any hidden costs at Miss Gertrude - something I have always disliked at other salons. However, this time as I booked on the phone, there must have been no communication that I had been put under someone more expensive. $20 extra isn't a big deal I know, however, this time my hair was closer to $200 rather than closer to $150, and I had very little expertise required as it was the exact same thing I've asked for for the past 3 appointments. I just don't like hidden costs and also don't like being charged more for the same thing, with no good reason. Otherwise I like it there.

I was particularly concerned that one particular worker in a pale blue dress with very long blonde hair was unfriendly, unenthused and rough during my treatment toner and wash at the basin. I felt uncomfortable with her general manner and lack of care. I only have good things to say about every other staff member including nicole who did an awesome job of my hair and was super friendly and tended to all my hair and comfort needs.

Disappointing to have to pay a deposit for my booking without any prior warning - I can understand although after the first cancellation you should be warned not to cancel and the implications. If I couldn't make a booking I would always call beforehand - at the time the person on reception could say - no problem although if you need to cancel again we are going to request a deposit for every subsequent booking. Instead the response when I called to cancel was 'thanks for letting us know'. So I was blind sighted when suddenly I was required to pay a deposit - not just for the next booking but for every booking thereafter. Is there a period of time you no longer have to make a deposit? It has completely put me off recommending this salon and I'm keen to look for a new one - I understand the policy although the communication around it is non-existent and that is what has impacted my otherwise positive experience with your salon.
