great working with a hair professional who provided great advise, gentle with my cut, took time and effort in the work she was doing on my hair. I am very happy. Overall service at Miss Gertrude is great - the hot chocolate was very yummy thankyou. Staff are skilled not just about cutting or colouring someones hair, its the effort and personal touch and creativity and from the staff that goes a long way. Very happy client. thankyou

I go to Miss Gertrude for a really good, styled haircut which is very important to me as I don't dye or otherwise treat my hair. As an "older" woman getting the style right for my preference is important to me. I don't want to be categorised, I don't want to be flogged products I don't want and/or can't afford. All staff I have encountered are very professional and friendly. I have had haircuts by Carmen and Eri and can highly recommend them both. Two friends of mine commented on my hair over dinner a few months ago and one has already travelled from Brighton to get her hair cut at Miss Gertrude!!

My first experience at Miss Gertrude was not a great one - the hairdresser who cut my hair was rushed and disinterested. I went there a second time as I couldn't be bothered trying to find a new salon, and ended up with the same hairdresser. This time the cut was better. And on my third visit I had the same hairdresser and this time the experience was excellent - she listened to me and gave me great advice and a good haircut. It is a lovely salon, so I'm glad I gave them a second chance. I guess sometimes a hairdresser cares about you more when they've seen you more than once.
