I always feel comfortable with Chantelle & after being her client for a year now, I feel she knows me well. We have a good rapport & she has a good understanding of what I may be interested in & what I won't. When I phoned to change my appointment this week, the person I spoke to tried to sell me a series. I explained that Chantelle had mentioned it to me previously but I preferred to pay as I go. The staff member pushed further & tried to tell me how much money I'd save on the series. I reiterated again that I was aware of the savings etc and then felt compelled to justify my decision in that I can't afford the upfront cost & was happy to pay as I go. While I can appreciate that sales & add ons are part & parcel with most jobs these days, the pushy sales talk while I was simply trying to reschedule an appointment wasn't appreciated. I'd already discussed this with my therapist & I wouldn't expect to have to justify my choice every time I speak to another staff member. As I've already mentioned, Chantelle knows my situation & always asks about products she thinks I may be interested in. I don't like the blanket, stock standard approach to sales & think a more personal, needs based approach would be more successful.
