I booked my appointment with the intention of a relaxing experience. I booked both a facial and a massage. My beauty specialist went into considerable detail regarding the skin care I use at home. As I booked a facial I can understand why this would be necessary to an extent. However, having made it very clear at the start of my consult that I was here for a relaxing experience and I was very happy with my current home skin care routine I became very frustrated when I was continually asked about the brands of products I used, even to the point of feeling insulted and judged. The facial and massage was enjoyable. I understand that upselling further facials and products is a part of running a good business, however the specialist definitely needs to work on her delivery of this and identifying which customers would be the best ‘targets’.
