This is the second time i've been to Pure Indulgence Toowoomba and the second time i've been made to feel as if i'm an annoyance to the business, rather than a customer choosing to spend my money there. The staff's favourite line seems to be 'Oh we won't have time for that'. Today I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment but when I asked for gel polish was told there simply wouldn't be time to add the 10 minutes to my treatment. Mind you, this is a quiet mid week afternoon at the salon with multiple staff members just milling around. Then I ask to change to a shorter and cheaper treatment so there would be time to add gel polish, which is accommodated. However the treatment then finished early and I was still charged $95 for a pedicure which was the rate for the longer, more expensive treatment that I was told I couldn't get due to time restrictions. Just disappointing that the business seems all too happy to take money while their service is so average.

I chose PurreIindulgence expecting a fantastic experience. I am one for small talk in appointments however I would prefer if the small talk wasn't about how the products I use where (innapropriate word, from your staff member) because I have used a product that wasn't purchased from your store. I felt like instead of walking into an environment where you should be made feel beautiful and relaxed but instead I got a teli marketeer trying to sell everything possible. I am incredibly saddened by the service I have received for my teatment as it has not giving me any self confidence but taken it away. I do not believe the outcome I received was worth what I paid. I believe staff need to be trained better in the services you provide. Unfortunately I do not ever see myself wanting to book and appointment with Pure Indulgence again.

Because of a health condition they would not massage me, and didn’t provide much detail as to why other than “policy” and “lymphatic drainage”. Lymphatic drainage is actually a recommended treatment to ease pain and discomfort from the treatment I am undergoing, but somehow was the only reason they could provide for refusing to provide a relaxation massage someone who happens to have cancer. When I initially asked if the $200 gift card my family member bought for me as a gift could be refunded I was told no, and that if I just went to a doctor and got them to write a letter saying I am allowed to be massaged, then they would do it. Otherwise they could offer waxing (ripping hairs out of my skin is arguably more ‘risky’ and also no thank you). Being that I was very upset and definitely don’t feel safe and respected by pure indulgence as a whole (not the staff individually, but the business that assumes adult people don’t know what’s best for their own health), the manager called head office who approved a refund, but only to the person who bought the gift card initially which is fine. Let me just be clear - I also take a medication that has negative interactions with grapefruit, but guess what, I don’t need to provide a doctors note to the checkout kid at woolies to buy grapefruit, I just don’t buy it because I’m not an idiot. This was an extremely upsetting experience for me. I will not be back.

On Thursday 13 November 2014 I booked into Pure Indulgence in Grand Central to have my legs waxed. The experience was not great. After the appointment my legs were rather sore, however I just put this down to the fact that I had just had them waxed. However, as time passed over the night they started to sting, I put lotion on them and went to bed. I woke the next morning to find that I had rather large burn patches and layers of skin missing across my legs. On my right leg a burn mark was the entire back of my leg from my knee to my ankle. I have attached a photo of this, however I have many more photos of the rest of my legs. Nearly a week on from this I still have marks across my legs, and they are still do not feel overly pleasent if they are bumped etc. I did go back to the salon and the ladies did refund me my money, but overall the experience was bad.

I asked for threading on my eyebrows and I got waxing and felt rushed it was my first time getting my eyebrows done so wasn’t a good experience at all.
