We regularly get pedicures from the shopping centre nail bars, however, the lure of an hour long pedicure which by the description was "a full soak in deep sea salts, an enriched callous-free wrap, followed by some delicate treatment for your nails. Your therapist will then soothe the contours of your feet, massage the tension from your tired toes". My daughter and I were so disappointed in the service that we received. The full soak in deep sea salts - if you call half a bucket of warm water with soap in it a full soak, then that is what we got. The delicate treatment of our nails was a quick file before the foot soak in half a bucket of soapy water - there was no treatment for the cuticles, there was no cutting of nails, there was nothing. So the build up for the massage was paramount to try and recover from the so far disappointing service, but alas the massage was a quick 2 minute rubbing in of cream over the feet, no massaging of tension from tired toes at all. We paid $90 each for our pedicure, and then I got my eyebrows waxed - all up the 3 treatments cost $230. So a quick calculation meant I paid $50 for an eyebrow wax which was exorbitant by anyone's standards. I guess what makes this visit so disappointing was we were so looking forward to it, having been regular customers of the Royal in the past getting facials, we thought we would try a pedicure. We definitely will not be going back for pedicures, I feel the service that we got from the shopping centre nail bars for $50 is way better value - we got a hot stone massage, we got a lymphatic massage for our lower legs and soles of our feet and our cuticles were given more treatment and attention. Sadly I guess the anticipation didn't meet the reality. The young lady that performed the pedicure was very lovely and friendly.
