My regular hairdresser left my suburb (Carrum Downs) and so I am on the hunt for a new hairdresser I can trust. I received a $20 (birthday) voucher from Salon Baroque which prompted me to make an appointment last Saturday. I used the online facility to make a booking and noted that a half head of foils was $100 (medium hair). I thought that was reasonable. I suspected that my bill would be a little higher (with toner added and a blow wave) and I intentionally didn't ask for a cut. I have been really disappointed in the past with other hairdressers who present me with an extraordinary bill - and guess what - my bill came to $228 . Unbelievable ! I did question it on the day (as I had been "offered" a hair treatment) but it was after closing hours and I was in a hurry and no cost was conveyed or talked about - I actually thought it was part of the service - and as it turned out - that added $59 to my bill. Arghhh ! I cannot help but feel swindled. What hurts is that I was very happy with the end result (my blond "half head tips colour) of my hair but how can anyone trust (or even work out) what it will actually cost you out-of-pocket in the end - next time I could have a $300 bill - something which the average worker cannot afford. In the end - My blow wave (without a wash) cost me $50 !!! Not acceptable. Sharon
